Hi Skaters,

We would like to provide you with information regarding the changes to EDEA’s new boot designs in 2023. Over the past few years, EDEA has been working to develop new boot shapes that will provide better support and comfort for both roller and ice skaters. While some members of the skating community have expressed concern about these changes, we assure you that there is nothing to worry about. In this newsletter, we will explain the differences between the new EDEA Roller and Ice boots.

Appearance:
The 2023 version of EDEA Roller boots now feature ivory heels made of a stronger material. These heels provide better grip for the screws, creating a more secure plate mounting. You will still need to have your plates mounted by qualified technicians to avoid damaging the soles, as before. The appearance of EDEA Ice boots has not changed.

Boot Shape:
The 2023 version of EDEA Roller boots now has a wider toebox, providing a more comfortable fit for roller skaters. The heel pocket size remains the same, creating the perfect balance between support and flexibility that you all love. For the Ice boots, the toebox has been widened too, and the new last is similar to the fit between C and D.

At present, 90% of SkatersEdge’s EDEA stock consists of new stock. Please do not assume that all stock will come with the new design. Always double-check with a virtual fitting or in-store fitting before placing an order online.

These changes mean that more skaters who were previously unable to wear EDEA boots will now be able to wear them. However, if you currently wear EDEA boots, your current boot size may not work for you in the new version. If you have never been fitted by SkatersEdge or have not taken the suggested size due to foot width issues, we strongly recommend using our Virtual Fitting Service to determine your best fit. We will also endeavor to get in touch with every skater who will be placing orders on our website in the next 6 months to help with the transition process.

While these changes are welcomed by most skaters, we understand that some skaters with narrow feet may prefer the old fit. If you have narrow feet, we have EDEA options available for you, and we encourage you to get in touch with us when you are ready for your next pair.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope that these changes will help improve your skating experience!

Sincerely,
The SkatersEdge Team
